Qualifications _______________________________________________________________________________ Located in Tianhe District of Guangzhou and with a 70-year history, South China Normal University (SCNU) is a key university in Guangdong Province of China. As a comprehensive teachers' training institution, its disciplinary setting covers liberal arts, science, engineering, fine arts, history, economics, law, administration, physical education, and education science. It is also a member university of the national “Project 2ll? a national policy that offers more government financial support to the construction of 100 national key universities in the 21st century. SCNU now has 16 schools covering 7 disciplines and 47 undergraduate specialties, 26 disciplines offering doctorate, 72disciplines offering mastership, 5 postdoctoral research station, 3 national key disciplines, 15 provincial key disciplines, two provincial key labs, one key lab of the Bureau of Higher Education of Guangdong, one national center for multimedia teaching software production and training, one research base for humanities studies designated by the Ministry of Education, one research base for human sociology of PE studies nominated by the State Sports Bureau, one research base for teachers' training nominated by the Ministry of Education. In order to strengthen the discipline construction and build SCNU into a first-class university, SCNU has implemented special allowance system for special posts, and is seeking first-class scholars at home and abroad to join our faculty. (1) Academic leaders or key scholars (2) Age: academicians under 65 doctorate supervisors under 50 professors under 45 associate professors with doctorate degree under 35 No strict age limitation for those candidates with outstanding academic achievements. (1) An engaged academician candidate will enjoy a 100,000 yuan housing allowance, an yearly 80,000 yuan A-post professor allowance (not including a yearly 12,000 yuan allowance from the Guangdong Provincial Government), and a yearly 50,000 yuan allowance for academic activity. (2) The allowance for a Special-engaged Professor will be paid in accordance with the terms in “Yangtz River Awarding Plan?and state's policy concerned. (3) An engaged A-post Professor can enjoy a 30,000 to 50,000 yuan housing allowance (50,000 to 70,000 yuan if both husband and wife are professors), and a yearly 80,000 yuan allowance; If the engaged A-post Professor is an academic leading figure in the discipline given priority of construction of SCNU, the housing allowance will go up to 80,000 yuan (10,000 yuan if both husband and wife are professors). (4) An engaged B-post Professor will enjoy a yearly 50,000 allowance; If the successful candidate is a professor, s/he will enjoy a 20,000 yuan housing allowance (40,000 yuan if both husband and wife are professors); If the successful candidate is an associate professor, s/he can enjoy 10,000 housing allowance. (4) SCNU will help the successful candidate's spouse find a job and arrange his/her children to kindergartens or schools. (5) SCNU will offer a certain amount of money as research starting fund based on the research topic to the successful candidate. The issue of housing for the successful candidate will be discussed separately.
